FEEDING AND MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

Application
Agri-Best Lamb Milk Replacer is a fully formulated complete first feed for lambs and goat kids. It provides the entire nutritional requirements of the baby lamb or kid from its second day of life through to weaning.

Feeding Instructions: Lambs
1. Ensure that the baby lamb receives colostrum during its first 12 hours of life.
2. For best results, mix Agri-Best Lamb Milk Replacer with cold water and offer ad libitum to lambs through a suitable nipple feeder. Milk should be available at all times.
3. For hand feeding with a nipple bottle or restricted feeding offer warm milk at 100’ F. It is recommended to offer 3 to 6 feedings per day of warm milk during the first two weeks of life and thereafter 2 feedings per day. Never offer more than 1/2 pint per feeding.
4. Provide good quality lamb creep at 3 to 6 days of age and restrict hay intake to the amount a lamb will eat in an hour.
5. Wean lambs at a minimum of 30 days and weighing at least 25 pounds.

Mixing Instructions
Mix at a rate of 2 lbs. per gallon of water or one (1) 4 ounce cup of Agri-Best Lamb Milk Replacer with two (2) cups of water. Milk will stay fresh up to 3 days due to acidification.

Feeding Instructions: Goat Kids
1. Restricted feeding: For the first few days, feed a limited quantity, up to 1 pint per feeding up to 3 to 4 times a day. As kids get older reduce the number of feedings per day. Best results are achieved feeding milk warm (98’F).
2. Ad-libitum feeding: This method works well for raising larger groups of kids that have been removed from the mother soon after birth. It is the recommended systems when a number of kids are being taken away, as with a milking herd.

Mixing Instructions
Mix at a rate of 1.5 lb. per gallon of water (3 ounces per pint).
1. Warm Restricted Feeding: Mix powder in 1/2 quantity of water at 120’F and then dilute to volume and feed at 98’F.
2. For Cold Ad Lib Feeding: Mix powder in 1/3 quantity of water at 120’F and then dilute to volume and feed at room temperature.
*One level measuring cup equals 1/4 pound of dry Agri-Best Lamb Milk Replacer.
