Strauss Feeds utilizes a unique agglomeration process called "Temperature Controlled Agglomeration" This process uses liquid nitrogen to alter the structure of the milk replacer particles to allow for excellent wettability and mixability. Unlike other agglomeration techniques, which use heat and steam to improve wettability, the cold process used at Strauss does not risk heat damaging proteins in the product. Also, since moisture is not added to the finished product, the moisture content of the end product is more consistent and less affected by temperature and humidity fluctuations than products produced by other agglomeration techniques.
